(recorded at KTUB studios in january 2013 as a single that was never released) one black eye was all it took to realize that the page that she held had the word “love” underlined this is a girl who died inside her mind where the gulls go to nest and the wolves they love to dine but I’m as lost as you’ll find I’m as lost as you’ll find… one by one it takes it’s toll, it find itself when two halves become whole I’m alone and I’m afraid one by one the days slip by, and one by one the lights will seep inside and the dark will fade to light burn it all away… these days I’m coming down with something and the way that you sway has got me wishing that I’d said nothing one black eye and a heart that was covered in frost and a trip to the coast that made me realize what I’d lost I really thought we did the best we could… (burn it all away)

(recorded in RED X STUDIOS in the August 2013 as a part of the BUILDINGS EP project) I found an old road and I followed it down to a riverbed that was swallowed in sound will you go there, when the worst is through? will you go there, if I go there too? we were unstoppable we were callused and true we shutter through evenings, that keep bringing me back to you will you go there, when the worst is through? will you go there, if I go there too? I took that old road and I followed it down to that riverbed where our love lost and drowned will you go there, when the worst is through? will you go there, if I go there too?

No Moon 03:45
(recorded in RED X STUDIOS in the August 2013 as a part of the BUILDINGS EP project) we both know where we're going tonight all I know is that I'm going to put up a fight because you are my constant we both know what you've been doing to me your bold blue eyes burst magnificently it's a circle, and we're still spinning sun moon and stars and the rain and the wind collapse on themselves as we lay here and we spin take your time please with a subtle ease and a glint in your eye we shoot to the moon and you leave me wondering why there's no movement I stop to breathe it in, and don't let go I stop to breathe it in, I won't let go sweet is the spring as your drifting away shrill is the sound that your lips make as you say "let's both leave quickly" I'll ride with my baby we'll split through the dark the loneliest songs are a victory for your heart let's keep building and building and building and building and go I stop to breathe it in, and don't let go I stop to breathe it in, I won't let go

(recorded during the thick heat of summer 2012 in a church for nick's lost solo album that never was) we walked by the lake your eyes, they struck me cold, I take one step, you push, I stumble to nowhere, to nothing, I tumble oh dear the waves they washed washed me clean your heart, adrift like a dream I sank deeper into the blue trying to catch one fleeting glimpse of you oh dear heart, please don't cry the bottom is where I lie water take mercy on me water take mercy on me, now I know...

(recorded as a single in KTUB studios in one day, september 2012) cut loose and run away with me as the moon fades and the colors bleed winter left us frozen and cold now the red sun is calling me back home I'm bursting at the seams will you color my interpretation and show me what it means? to run as if the streets are on fire, yes the streets are on fire. and to scream at the top of my lungs. broken in beautiful kinda way I'm a liar, you're a thief and we're complete but your eyes were the center of my melody now I'm running away with the very mistake that I love so dearly I'm bursting at the seams will you color my interpretation and show me what it means? to run as if the streets are on fire, yes the streets are on fire. and to scream at the top of my lungs

(originally a poem by nick johnston, recorded for caleb tjelle's senior project in the spring of 2013. demo's done at canyon hills community church by carson heffner, beats made in the yearous household, additional production by justus yearous and caleb tjelle) my love is a building I'm building around you made of four walls of concrete and windows of glass and clay my fear is a tower that pierces the skyline made of bronze and wax-paper, it's gilded and painted black my restlessness is blinking pulling cars on the freeway it's calling me softly away from the one I love my loneliness is scraping the sky that surrounds you I can't but help but wonder if my building is crashing down I'm building around you...

(recorded in a church for nick's lost solo project that never saw the light of day) where did it go, where did it all go? could it be that there was none or did we just run dry where did it go, the love and the music? quiet hands and a broken jaw have replaced my youthful frame where did you go? I thought that I had you you let the days unravel quickly you turned and walked away where did she go? across a river, the ocean I'll take back those words and I'll write you a song and we'll fade into the spring where did it go? girl, where did you go? could it be that there was none, or did we just run dry?
